Apparently, Gameinformer leaked some screenshots from the new title according to ScrewAttack

Judging from a first eye look, the animation is more of a 2.5D sprite unlike Marvel vs Capcom 2 which is a 2D sprite character environment rendered in a 2.5D background. The detail looks pretty good, I guess Capcom is trying to go with a Tatsunoko vs Capcom-esque approach (not mad at them). Pretty solid images – check em out:
