Remember when you were a kid and this was the height of 2D graphics? I got to the Alpha playing in 1997..woulda been 96, but my friend didn’t have the right output for this old ground model TV we had. LOL. At any rate, Street Fighter Alpha will always remain a staple in the Street Fighter series. I think the game completely changed the Alpha counters and characters having 2 to 3 Super Moves.

For me, this series was everything. Street Fighter Alpha was the perfect fighting game from the characters, the animations, the fighting, the soundtrack, and of course the story line. The story cleared up so many things that I didn’t know about the main characters: Ryu, Ken, and Chun-Li. It was almost like watching a Street Fighter anime before the Alpha movie came out. Capcom back in 96-99 was on a very serious anime style kick. You could definitely tell that between their Street Fighter games as well as their Mega Man X games. It was quite refreshing to see them break out of the whole digitized phase. Alpha 1 was the start of all this. Although, this commercial makes absolutely no sense, and I have no idea why they would put cockroaches on here….it is pretty cool to see what was “in” back then! Welp, I won’t bore you with anymore useless jargon. Check out the Throwback Thursday of today: Street Fighter Alpha!
