I haven’t posted up anything Mortal Kombat history related in a long time on here, but I’m definitely going to get this up! Shoutout to MK Secrets dropping a lot of knowledge and jewels behind the games I used to play back in the day. It’s pretty cool how they get into the history of the Mortal Kombat: Annihilation movie. I personally was not a big fan of the 2nd film and for good reason, too. Everything they said about the character development and the fighting was true. They name dropped a few characters that weren’t in the film. I honestly feel if they spent a bit more time on it and tried to really get the character development together better, the film would have been a lot better. Honestly, I feel like they were really trying to capitalize off of Mortal Kombat Trilogy and the arcade game of MK4 that featured Shinnok.
All I have to say is that I was really excited when it first came out, but as I saw it a few more times, I just knew the first one was way better. Not to say that there weren’t a few shining moments, the costumes were dope, the animality was pretty cool for the time. However, Mortal Kombat went way better with the story, made way more sense and had better acting. Overall, this movie was just fun for the time. Check out this 20 min episode of a great history lesson.
