Ultimate Marvel vs Capcom 3: Heroes and Heralds trailer

Wow, this is actually pretty cool. You know, I always talked about them instituting another type of Gem system where the abilities are enhanced. I guess this is my next best wish called the “Ability Cards”. In this particular mode, there are enhancements to your ability depending on the type of card you choose. It’s almost like having Magic: The Gathering mixed in with the Ultimate Marvel vs Capcom 3 system. Not mad at that! From what I saw in the trailer, there will be:

Super Armor: Builds your defense.

Invisibility – Makes it harder for your character to read your attack because you aren’t visible on screen.

Assist Attack Stun – this is a good way to get some tag team play in and build your combos because of the stun feature.

Speed Assist – Excellent way to trick your opponent, dodge attacks, and the like.

Special Attack Cancels – Now, this kind of reminds of how the PSX did their combos because you couldn’t really do character switches in the match. Y’all know what I’m talking about. Only the Sega Saturn version could do that for the X-Men vs Street Fighter, Marvel Super Heroes vs Street Fighter. Of course, Marvel vs Capcom on the Dreamcast had the memory for the full tag.

X-Factor Burst – Now, I can definitely see Phoenix being like a complete hypebeast, top-tier character just for the simple fact of them adding this to it. Basically, once that person bounces off the wall from the burst, it’s a wrap. Plain and simple.

Projectile Invincibility – For you fireball spammers out there, beware..y’all will get murked with the quickness. LOL.

Parry – I believe there’s a parry system, too. This will definitely kick the whole game up a notch!

I love how Capcom is adding a lot of these interesting features to add to the already complex gameplay style. It’ll def throw EVERYONE for a loop. Ultimate Marvel vs Capcom 3 comes out at a November 15, 2011 release! Peep the trailer below
